Ritual of Friendship
If you are visiting our congregation, please sign our Guest Book at the entrance to our sanctuary. We also ask that members and visitors sign our "Ritual of Friendship" that is located at the end of each pew. In the Guest Book or in the Ritual of Friendship you may request a copy of our church newsletter by including your name and address.

Prayer Concerns
If you have a prayer request, please tell one of our greetors who will give your request to one of our minister so they can alert the congregation during the announcements and offer a special prayer during the Morning Prayer. Prayer requests may also be submitted on this Web site using our Prayer Request Form.

Our Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

The Children's Message
Children who are nine and under are invited to come forward for a time of sharing with our ministers and the congregation. During this time, the children participate in a conversation about an age-appropriate topic chosen by our minister. Sample Children's Messages are available on this Web site for your review.

Extended Session
Following the Children's Message, pre-school through third grade children may leave the sanctuary to attend a supervised extended study session in our Sunday School classroom.

Our Lord's Supper
Our congregation celebrates the Lord's supper every Sunday. We practice "open communion" which means that it is not necessary to belong to this congregation to take communion. Both the bread and the cup will be passed to you in the pew. After it is passed to you, hold the bread and the cup until the minister speaks the words of institution, after which we take communion together.

Baptism
This congregation practices baptism by immersion for those who have reached an age of understanding and make a confession of their faith. If you have been baptized in another tradition and are interested in transfering to this congregation, we accept other forms of Christian baptism and immersion is not required.

Child Dedications
Periodically throughout the year, parents will bring young children and infants for dedication. This is a time for parents to give thanks for the birth of their child and for the congregation to commit itself to nurture, love and support the child and the parents. Dedication to a New Life: A Service is availabe for your review on this Web site.

Our Nursery
A nursery is available for children from infant through 3 years of age during both worship services and Sunday School. One of our greeters will be happy to take you to the nursery and introduce you to our staff.

Join our Family of Faith
The final hynm of our worship service is called the Hymn of Consecration. If you would like to become a member of our congregation, you are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary as this hymn is being sung. Our ministers will receive you into membership. We accept members by "Transfer of Membership" and by "Confession of Faith." If you are currently a member of another church and want to transfer your membership to Bon Air Christian Church, our ministes will contact your former church. If you have never been a member of a church, you may join by Confession of Faith. At the end of the Hymn of Consecration, one of our ministers will ask: "Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and do you accept him as Lord and Savior?"
